Call for Scientific Committee members

For its fifth upcoming conference, EPATH launches a call for Scientific Committee members to be involved in the abstract reviewing process.

As a member of the Scientific Committee of a specific stream within the conference, you will be reviewing a number of abstracts, depending on the amount of abstracts submitted for the stream you are involved in. The whole review process is double blind and works through a swift, easy-to-use digital platform. The system ensures you do not get to review abstracts from your colleagues, who work in the same institution/university, nor do you get to review your own abstracts.

The abstract review process will take place in November 2022.

Streams

Each stream has its own Scientific Committee. The streams you can apply for are:

  • Mental health (adults)
  • Mental health (Children and Adolescents)
  • Endocrinology
  • Law, Policy and Ethics
  • Surgery
  • Voice and communication
  • Social and Political Sciences
  • Reproductive Health
  • Education
  • Primary care

Suggestions for new streams are welcome. Contact us at contact@epath.eu if you are not sure, or suggest a new stream in the application form.

Procedure

Candidates who meet the predefined criteria can send in their application via the application form from August 18th, 2022 until October 10, 2022. The stream leaders of each stream, who have been appointed by the EPATH board of Directors, will decide on the composition of their Scientific Committee. Geographical spreading of SC members will be taken into account. All candidates will be notified of this decision by October 31st, 2022 latest.

What does EPATH offer you in return?

We highly appreciate your time and effort and are sorry that we cannot return your time and energy with any financial compensation, nor with free registration for the conference. However, we know from past experience that reviewing abstracts will leave you with a good overview of which studies are being carried out in Europe, and of course you will be involved in the creation of the content of the fifth EPATH conference. In addition, we honour your contribution by listing your name on our website as well as in the programme book, as a member of EPATH’s Scientific Committee.

Criteria

  • Fully paid EPATH member
  • Doctoral level or equivalent*
  • 3 international peer reviewed publications

*if you do not have obtained your PhD yet, please include a letter from your supervisor
