Transgender Care within the Current Political Climate: A Public Debate

In collaboration with the Transgender Infopunt and with support from the Ghent City Council, we are pleased to announce an upcoming public event titled: “Transgender Care within the Current Political Climate.” This event is open to a diverse audience and will take place on Thursday, July 4, 2024, at the STAM Museum (Bijlokesite), from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM.

The central focus of this event will be a robust discussion on critical issues related to transgender care. Distinguished experts, practitioners, and policy officers will engage in dialogue surrounding various topics: puberty blockers, informed consent and autonomy, access and affordability of hormone therapy and gender-affirming surgery, the recognition of gender identity in official documents and the protection of rights within healthcare, the emotional and mental support that transgender individuals require during their transition, etc.

Following the discussion, attendees are invited to a reception where they can continue conversations, network, and engage with fellow participants.

The participants of the summer school are obliged to attend the public event.
